Essential Travel Apps You Need For Your Next Trip

TRIP IT

Trip It keeps all of your travel information in one handy place, so that you can manage your itinerary with ease. What I love is that it does all of this automatically! Trip It scans your emails and whenever it sees something like a travel itinerary, it imports all of the information into the app and organizes it into a itinerary. It will draw flights, tours, hotels, car rentals, and even AirBnB reservations with information like flight numbers, addresses, phone numbers, check in/out times, reservation numbers, and more. You can also forward your information to fellow travelers, or to someone at home for safety purposes. Trip It helps me stay organized and know exactly where I’m supposed to be when, all in one convenient place. You can find it here.

TRAIL WALLET

Trail Wallet is a fantastic budget keeper for the road. It allows you to set your daily budget, break it up into various categories, and gives you information as you go along to let you know whether or not you’re on target. It also automatically calculates money conversions, so you never have to spend your evening crunching numbers and figuring out that day’s expenses. I never travel without it! Check it out here.

JOURNI

Journi is my absolute favorite way to keep in touch with friends and family when I’m on the road. Journi allows you to create a log of your travel memories with images, a built-in GPS enabled map, and more. People can comment on your posts, leave reactions, and follow you as you make your way along your trip. It has many of the benefits of Facebook and Instagram, without creating the urge to scroll through other peoples’ posts, keeping you more connected to the moment. Plus it feels so much more personal than the bigger social media sites. As a bonus, you can print an actual photo album from your images! Love love love it! See it here.

AIRLINE APPS

Airline apps are great for storing your boarding pass, checking into flights, and getting notifications regarding delays and cancellations. They can also be fantastic for staying on top of requirements for travel during the pandemic. The United Airlines app, as an example, gives users up to date information on what testing and quarantine requirement flyers may need for their destination, including the exact date and time within which you need to take a COVID-19 test before traveling.

GOOGLE MAPS

This one may be obvious, but it’s so useful that I would be remiss if I left it off this list. In large cities, Google Maps is a lifesaver for getting around! Especially fantastic is the ability to drop pins in places of interest while you plan your trip, and the ability to download your maps for offline use. Find it here.

There are so many great apps out there and this list is by no means exhaustive. But these are some of my favorites and are ones that I rely on every single time I travel! Hope you find them useful as well!
